Protein Pancakes

I thought I would share a special pancake that I make! You've probably seen me post my paleo banana pancakes that I make a ton, but this is a twist that adds extra protein!

I chose to use up some Vega vegan chocolate protein powder and some Isopure whey-isolate protein dutch chocolate. I did half a scoop of each. The Isopure adds more sweetness!

I also added my favorite dairy-free chocolate chips. You can chose to make this dairy-free if you would like, just skip the whey-isolate powder.

Yields 3-4 pancakes


  • 1 banana

  • 1/2 cup or 3 egg whites

  • scoop of your favorite protein powder

  • optional coconut flour (for consistency)

  • optional chocolate chips

  • coconut oil (or oil of your choice)

Feel free to add any other extras:

  • vanilla extract

  • cinnamon

  • pumpkin spice

  • blueberries


  1. Mash the banana and add the optional vanilla extract and cinnamon. Then add in the egg whites.

  2. measure out your protein powder and add to batter.

  3. Toss optional chocolate chips or blueberries into the batter and mix using a spatula or spoon.

  4. Heat a greased pan on medium heat and pour about a 2.5-inch wide puddle of batter.

  5. Delicately flip the pancake after it starts to bubble around the edges. Flip when it browns.
