5 things

Within the last five years, I discovered that I am lactose intolerant. I try to live dairy-free, but the longest I’ve gone without it is 10 months. I originally went dairy -free after advice from my dermatologist. Food documentaries on Amazon Prime and Netflix, such as Hungry for Change; Food, Inc.; Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead; and Vegucated, all of which I highly recommend, may convince you to kick dairy to the curb. Did you know humans are the only mammal that continues to rely on milk after infancy? As much as a shocking 65 percent of all humans have a reduced ability to digest lactose after infancy! Our bodies are NOT meant for it!! Luckily, you can still be a foodie without dairy. Stay tuned and I’ll share some of my favorite dairy-free recipes to incorporate into your diet in the very near future.

  1. I'm a freelance graphic designer and online health coach. Both allow me to work from home! Yes, I love having that luxury, but don't get me wrong: I pull my fair share of 12 or even 16-hour days!

  2. I'm addicted to polka dots. END. OF. STORY.

  3. I’m naturally a night owl. I tend to get my creative streak between the hours of 1:00 and 3:00 AM. These late nights (or should I say early mornings) often work to my advantage when agencies I'm contracted with send me projects at day’s end. They will have pretty designed pieces waiting in their inbox upon their arrival to work the next day. I like to think of myself as the Design Fairy.

  4. One of my many nicknames is "True Anna," hence the blog name. I think it's funny that all of my nicknames are longer than my actual name. I guess that's what you get when your name is only 4 letters.
